FL-TF2 Open Enrollment

 Florida Task Force 2 Applicants,

It is with great pleasure that we announce that FEMA Urban Search and Rescue - Florida Task Force 2 will be conducting Open Enrollment for New Members.

Open Enrollment will be held at the Florida Task Force 2 Headquarters located at 444 S.W. 2nd Avenue 10th floor, Miami FL 33130 from Thursday June 27th through Saturday June 29th, 2013 between the hours of 0800 and 1200.

Potential applicants need to hand deliver (not fax or email) their application on one of those 3 days where it will be reviewed and any deficiencies will be identified.  Potential applicants will be given a window to correct any deficiencies by Close of Business July 17, 2013. Any incomplete applications at the close of business on that day will have to wait till the next Open Enrollment Period. Applications received after 7/17/13 will not be considered.

Applicants with complete and approved applications will be given an opportunity to register for one of 3 Orientation dates from Thursday August 1st - Saturday August 3rd, 2013.  Pre-plan for 2 of the 3 days as each day will have a limited number of seats.

Below is a link to download all the forms that comprise the application packet.  An Application Checklist has been included to help track what other documents you will be responsible to submit.

  • All sworn personnel or Civilian Fire Department personnel are required to submit an approval letter from their Chief of Department endorsing their participation in the program.  If multiple members from one department are applying, one letter with all the candidates names will be accepted.  All letters will be confirmed with the participating agency for accuracy.  As the sponsoring Agency, City of Miami personnel will have their letter secured by the Program Manager.
  • All potential applicants must include a completed physical form (attached) to be completed by either their department or personal physician.

Failure to provide either of these 2 documents will result in rejection of the application for this Open Enrollment period.

If there are any questions regarding specific fields of an application, please leave that field blank and we will provide clarification at the Open Enrollment Application Session.

Applicants who have submitted applications individually since the previous Open Enrollment period will be required to confirm that their application remains on file.  This can be done by contacting Captain Yami Diaz at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Once confirmed, you will still be required to attend one of the 3 days where the application will be reviewed and deficiencies identified. (Bring an additional copy of the completed application with you along with any updates you may have.)
